Summary
High tech manufacturing companies deal with ever increasing production demands from their customers. Automation can offer opportunities to increase the throughput of a facility, when using the right approach. This research explores different methods for process improvements. The DYNAMO method is selected and used to analyse a production process at a high tech production facility. Improvements of the method are considered in order to make the method more accessible for engineers. This includes the design of four decision trees. The DYNAMO method results in an overview of automation opportunities, but does not provide insight regarding the selection of projects. In this research this next step is explored, considering several selection methods and criteria.
